Differences between the mother and the granny

What are the differences between…… and ……?

Contrary to the mother, the grand-mother has small glasses.

Unlike the mother, the grand-mother is crazy.

The mother has big glasses whereas the granny has small ones.

The grand-mother has a pink dress while the mother has a purple outfit.

In the story, the Once-Ler looks like a monster.

He has yellow eyes and green hands.

He peeks out the shutters like a spy.

You must put the price of the story in a tin pail.

-> 15 cents / a snail / a nail

Contrary to the grand-mother, the mother doesn’t believe in the Once-Ler.

Real trees are dirty whereas fake trees are bright. (vocab: bright = lumineux)

Real trees blossom while fake trees don’t. (vocab: blossom = fleurir, bourgeonner)

The grand-mother believes in the Once-Ler whereas the mother doesn’t.

For Ted’s mother, real trees can be dirty and messy. They have a lot of leaves and they change colours only in Autumn.

Electronic trees clean and tidy. They can change colours and play music with a remote.

Ted wants to know the story of real trees.

He needs: 15 cents, a nail, and the shell of a snail.

It’s the price of the story.
